Speechify credits calculator
Convert Speechify Studio credits — or a whole plan — into minutes of voiceover, dubbing and avatar video. Studio meters by the second, which makes the math clean until you switch modes and the rate jumps 3× or 30×.
Quick answer: 1 Speechify Studio credit = 1 second of voiceover, so Starter’s 7,200 monthly credits are exactly 2 hours of finished audio (≈ $0.16/minute at $19/mo). Dubbing burns 3 credits per second and avatar video 30 — the same pool lasts 40 minutes dubbing or just 4 minutes of avatars.

Plan pools, prices and per-second rates verified on Speechify's pages, Jul 2026 (voiceover 1 cr/s · dubbing 3 · avatar 30; unchanged re-exports free). Studio Free carries no commercial usage rights. Regenerated takes bill again — treat results as planning figures.
How Speechify Studio credits convert
The per-second meter is Speechify’s cleanest idea: a 10-minute YouTube narration costs exactly 600 credits, so Starter covers roughly 12 such videos a month with credits left over. The trap is the mode spread — the identical pool buys two hours of voiceover, 40 minutes of dubbing, or four minutes of avatar footage. The full mechanics, including what happens on re-exports, are in our Studio credits explainer.
Two licensing notes before you budget: Studio Free’s 600 credits carry no commercial usage rights — the license starts at Starter, detailed in our commercial-use read — and Premium (the $29 listening app) includes no Studio credits at all. For how Studio’s voices stack against the field, see the Speechify review and the ElevenLabs vs Speechify comparison.
Speechify credits FAQ
Studio meters by time, not words: 1 credit buys 1 second of voiceover, dubbing burns 3 credits per second, and avatar video burns 30 per second — all from one pool. So Starter's 7,200 monthly credits equal exactly two hours of finished voiceover.
In voiceover mode: Studio Free's 600 credits ≈ 10 minutes (no commercial rights), Starter's 7,200 ≈ 2 hours (about $0.16 per minute at $19/mo), Creator's 28,800 ≈ 8 hours (near $0.10 per minute at $49/mo). Switch modes and the pool shrinks: dubbing cuts it to a third, avatars to a thirtieth.
Avatar video is billed at 30 credits per second versus voiceover's 1. Starter's entire 7,200-credit month is gone in exactly 4 minutes of avatar footage — the 30× spread is the single biggest gotcha on the plan, so know which mode you'll actually live in before picking a tier.
No — two products under one brand. Premium ($29/mo) is the listening app that reads documents to you; Studio (from $19/mo) is the voiceover/dubbing/avatar production suite that uses these credits. A Premium subscription includes no Studio credits.
The rates are Speechify's own per-second metering, verified Jul 2026, so the arithmetic is exact for generated seconds. Regenerated takes bill their seconds again, and unchanged re-exports are free — confirm your remaining pool on the account page.
