Do Synthesia credits roll over?

Verified Jul 19, 2026Medium confidence — includes third-party reportingSynthesia review →

Synthesia doesn't say — and we won't invent it. Its primary credits guide states the pool mechanics (one shared pool, 2 credits per second of video) but never states whether unused annual credits roll over at renewal. Secondary sources say they don't — an annual plan is treated as one yearly pool — but we couldn't confirm that on any primary Synthesia page as of July 2026. If rollover is load-bearing for your budget, verify it on your own account's billing page before committing annually.

What the primary pages do establish: plans are metered from a single credit pool (Basic 1,200/month free; Starter 14,500/year; Creator 44,000/year), and video generation burns 2 credits per second — the full math is in our credits-per-minute explainer.

For contrast, the vendors that do state their rollover rules: HeyGen carries monthly credits one cycle and accumulates annual ones; ElevenLabs banks up to two months' quota; Runway resets everything monthly except Max. Synthesia's silence is itself worth knowing before an annual commitment.

Two adjacent Synthesia rules that ARE stated: purchases are non-refundable, and cancellation ends access to every video in the account at period end — the exit math is in how to cancel Synthesia.
