Synthesia credits calculator
Convert any Synthesia credit amount — or a whole plan’s pool — into minutes and seconds of avatar video. Synthesia moved from minutes to credits in its plan metering; this converts back to the unit you actually plan in.
Quick answer: Synthesia charges 2 credits per second of generated video — 120 credits per minute. The free Basic plan’s 1,200 monthly credits are ≈ 10 minutes; Starter’s 14,500 annual credits are ≈ 120 minutes a year; Creator’s 44,000 are ≈ 360 minutes a year.

Rate and pool sizes read on Synthesia's help center and pricing pages, verified Jul 2026 (2 credits/second, one shared pool; annual pools shown for Starter/Creator). Regenerations bill their seconds again. Whether unused annual credits roll over is not confirmed on a primary Synthesia page — treat results as planning figures.
How Synthesia credits convert
Synthesia replaced per-minute metering with credits, and the published conversion is fixed: 2 credits per second of generated video, 120 per minute, drawn from one shared pool. The migration math, the per-plan pools and the one open question (annual rollover isn’t stated on a primary page) are covered in our Synthesia credits-per-minute explainer.
Before committing a budget to a pool, two policy pages matter as much as the rate: cancellation ends access to every video in the account (the video-access catch), and stock avatars carry a paid-promotion ban regardless of plan (the commercial-use rules). For where Synthesia sits against the avatar field, see the Synthesia review and the Synthesia vs HeyGen comparison.
Synthesia credits FAQ
120 credits. Synthesia meters video generation at 2 credits per second of generated video, drawn from one shared pool — so a 10-minute training module costs 1,200 credits.
At the 2-credits-per-second rate: the free Basic plan's 1,200 monthly credits ≈ 10 minutes a month; Starter's 14,500 annual credits ≈ 120 minutes a year; Creator's 44,000 ≈ 360 minutes a year. Enterprise pools are custom.
Synthesia's primary credits guide doesn't state it outright. Secondary sources say annual credits are one yearly pool that doesn't carry past renewal, but we couldn't confirm that on a primary Synthesia page — verify on your own account if it's load-bearing for your budget. Our credits explainer tracks this open question.
Regenerations. Every re-render of a scene bills its seconds again at the same 2-credits-per-second rate, so a script that needs three passes costs three times the math this calculator shows for it.
The rate is Synthesia's own published 2-credits-per-second conversion (verified Jul 2026), so the arithmetic is exact for generated seconds. What it can't know is your retake rate — budget extra passes for any script still being edited, and confirm your pool size on your account's billing page.
