Hidden costs and gotchas

Three fine-print rules: the free plan can't download videos at all (and everything it makes is watermarked); regenerations bill their seconds again; and cancellation ends access to every video in the account at period end, with no refunds for unused time.

The download wall surprises free-tier users most — "Download your videos" is literally the first Starter feature, so Basic's 10 monthly minutes live only inside Synthesia. Logo removal, AI dubbing and the AI Video Assistant arrive at the same tier. Retakes are the quiet cost at every tier: each re-render of a scene deducts its seconds again at 2/second, so a script that needs three passes costs three times this page's math.
