Quick answer

Arcads verdict: An actor studio for paid-social testing: 1,000+ AI actors at 800 credits a minute, with the big generative video models in the same pool. Worth it when you use a 10-minute block every month; expensive below that, and its licence is narrower than Creatify's.

What Arcads is — and is it legit?

Arcads is an AI actor studio for paid social. You pick a person from a library of 1,000+ AI actors, give them a script, and get back a creator-style talking ad — the format that fills Meta and TikTok feeds. Around that core it bolts on the big generative video models, ready-made scene presets and tools for turning one ad into many hooks. It is aimed squarely at performance marketers: Arcads' terms define the customer as "a professional", so this is not a consumer app.

It is a real, funded company. Arcads announced a $16 million seed round on December 17, 2025, led by Eurazeo with Alpha Intelligence Capital and the Sequoia Scout program; it was founded in 2024 by Dylan Fournier and Romain Torres, and at the raise reported over 6,000 clients, 100,000 assets a month and a team of seven. The operating company is FRESHR, registered in Rouen, France, so billing can carry that name rather than Arcads' — its help center says refunds appear as "a credit from Arcads/FreshHR". Worth knowing before the first statement.

How Arcads works: actors, engines and the shared credit pool

Every action draws on one monthly credit pool. A talking actor costs "800 credits per minute, per actor" on any of its three engines — Arcads 1.0, Audio-Driven and OmniHuman 1.5 — with "Length is always rounded up." Scene presets are priced per run: an unboxing POV is 400 credits, a gesture or camera move 240, a product showcase or fashion try-on 800. The hook repurposer, which spins one ad into new openings, is 800; translating a video is 240.

The same pool pays for generative footage: Veo 3.1 at 800 credits a generation, Sora 2 at 240–1,200, Kling 3.0 at 176–560 and Seedance 2.0 at 96–1,620 depending on resolution. Still images on Nano Banana Pro and Seedream are free up to 100 a day. That breadth is the product's real pitch — actors and B-roll from one account — and also the reason budgets surprise people: one Veo clip costs the same 800 credits as a full minute of talking actor.

Pro unlocks the agency features. You can clone yourself into a talking actor for 1,600 credits a video ("available exclusively on the PRO plan"), import custom voices from ElevenLabs ("PRO account only"), and get personalized guidance and live support, which Arcads says is "fully available for pro clients".

Pricing: no public price list, but the credit math is published

Arcads shows prices only on the in-app paywall — arcads.ai/pricing returns a 404 — so dollar figures come from people who recorded the paywall. Reports dated Aug 4 and Aug 24, 2026 put Starter at $110 a month list, shown at 30% off as $77; Creator at $220 ($154); and Pro at $550 ($385). The credit allowances are first-party: Starter 8,000 a month and Creator 16,000. Pro is reported at 40,000 or 48,000.

At 800 credits per actor-minute, Starter is 10 minutes of talking-actor video a month — about twenty 30-second ads — which works out to $7.70–$11.00 per minute. Starter and Creator credits "reset each cycle and do not roll over", and the account is "temporarily blocked" at the limit; Pro rolls credits over and bills overage per credit. The full Arcads pricing breakdown converts every plan and tool into finished ads.

The 3-day trial, refunds and how people get caught

The trial is short and converts on its own: "If your 3-day trial ended without you cancelling, your saved card was automatically charged for the Starter plan." Arcads does not publish the trial's credit allowance; one September reviewer reports it was 1,000 credits. At Arcads' own rates that is 75 seconds of a talking actor or a single Veo 3.1 clip — enough to judge one script, not to build a campaign. Cancel on day two.

The refund policy is better than most in the category if you act quickly. A billing period in which you "used zero generation credits" is refunded in full when you ask within 30 days; there is a one-time courtesy refund within 24 hours of your first charge if no credits were used; and if you bought a lower plan and then upgraded to reach a specific feature, the lower plan can be refunded within 7 days of the upgrade. Once credits are spent, quality complaints do not qualify — "Poor output quality alone… does not qualify for credit reimbursement" — and renewals must be cancelled "no later than 72 hours before the end of the current Period".

What you can do with the ads: the licence and its penalties

Arcads licenses the videos rather than handing over ownership: the right to "reproduce and the right to fix the Video" and to "distribute, broadcast and market the Video", with permitted edits listed — "cropping, add music, text and subtitle, emoji, B-rolls, Gifs, sound effect, changing the format of the Video, affixing the Client's name, brand and logo." Breaching the restrictions on how its actors may be used carries "a lump-sum indemnity of 500.000,00 euros (five hundred thousand euros) per breach", and if an actor withdraws, videos must come down or the penalty is "a hundred (100) euros per day of delay".

Inputs flow the other way: what you upload is licensed to the company, including "The right to train FRESHR's artificial intelligence models". For an in-house brand team this is mostly paperwork; for an agency delivering ads to clients, the edit list and the takedown obligation belong in the client contract. Creatify, by contrast, assigns you the copyright — the Arcads vs Creatify comparison puts the two side by side.

Who should buy Arcads — and who shouldn't

Buy it if you run paid social at volume and your testing loop is "same script, many faces": a media buyer or agency that will use at least ten actor-minutes a month gets a deep actor library, three talking engines and the premium video models in one place, and the per-minute price only improves on Pro. Five-star reviewers are mostly this customer — teams scaling Meta creative who learned the prompting and budget around the credits.

Skip it if you are testing the idea, publishing a few ads a month, or buying from an Instagram ad on impulse — that is where the one-star reviews cluster: credits gone after a handful of videos, a renewal nobody meant to keep, slow replies. At low volume Creatify is cheaper per ad, publishes its prices, has a free plan and assigns you the copyright; if you want a presenter for longer talking-head videos rather than ads, see our HeyGen review. Whatever you choose, run your own script through the trial before paying for a month.

What Trustpilot users say

Trustpilot2.7/5179 reviewschecked Oct 4, 2026
Recurring praise

Creative volume for Meta ads: “Arcads has allowed our creative production to ramp to new levels” (Sep 17, 2026); “Product achieved us a 3-5x on creative via meta” (May 6, 2026)

Support is named in most five-star reviews — including a renewal that “unexpectedly” went through, refunded with “no hassle at all” (Sep 9, 2026)

Realism when prompted well: “The AI actors with sora are very realistic” (Jun 26, 2026); “Price is high, but totally worth it” (Jun 22, 2026)

Recurring complaints

Credit burn: “paid 80 usd produced only 3vidoes” (Sep 27, 2026); a trial user was “out of credits only after 2 short 10 second videos” (Sep 29, 2026)

Billing after cancelling and unanswered support: “Charged A$187 after cancelling — four emails, 23 days, zero response” (Aug 18, 2026)

Output below the ads that sold it: “The video generated look blurry and low quality, nothing like what they advised” (Jun 21, 2026); the true cost of cloning yourself was not clear up front, “£425 a month minimum” (Oct 2, 2026)

Sharply polarized: 84 one-star and 76 five-star reviews out of 179, with little in between. Many five-star reviews are one line long and arrived close together in late June 2026, so the detailed reviews on both sides say more than the average.

Our bench's take: Both camps describe the same product: a capable actor studio whose credits run out faster than first-time buyers expect, and whose billing punishes a missed cancellation. Teams that plan around the 800-credit actor minute and cancel trials on day two report the good version; impulse buyers report the bad one.
